ABC's NIGHTLINE Opens 2016-2017 Season with Its Largest Overall Audience Since June

ABC News' NIGHTLINE opened the 2016-17 season with 1.451 million Total Viewers, 535,000 Adults 25-54 and 405,000 Adults 18-49, during the week of September 19, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" (1.284 million and 532,000) during premiere week in Total Viewers (+167,000) and Adults 25-54 (+3,000).

"Nightline" improved on the previous week (1.335 million, 472,000 and 346,000 for w/o 9/12/16) in Total Viewers (+9%), Adults 25-54 (+13%) and Adults 18-49 (+17%), drawing its largest overall audience since June and best key adult performances since July - since weeks of 6/20/16 and 7/11/16.

"Nightline" had the No. 1 telecast during premiere week in Total Viewers (1.678 million) with its Wednesday airing (9/21/16), outdrawing every telecast of the week of CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers."
