York Symphony Orchestra Presents TITANIC on 3/4

The York Symphony Orchestra will present Titanic on Saturday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center in York. It is the third and final Pops performance of the 2016-2017 season. The performance will feature highlights from the Academy Award-winning film and the Tony Award-winning musical along with music performed aboard the actual ship. The evening will include a violin performance by York Symphony Orchestra Music Director Lawrence Golan and appearances by guest vocalists and award-winning Broadway actors Nat Chandler and Jennifer Hope Wills.

"This performance will showcase some of the most-loved music from the award-winning film and musical, creating a special evening for the audience," said Golan. "It is also particularly timely and nostalgic as 2017 marks the 20thanniversary of the film."

Guest artist Nat Chandler performed on Broadway most recently in Children and Art, a Stephen Sondheim tribute. He starred in the title role of Sir Percival Blakeney in the Tony nominated musical, The Scarlet Pimpernel. Chandler has performed with several national tours and had leading roles in a broad spectrum of American musicals and operas across the country. An award-winning actor and soloist, Chandler has performed with renowned American symphonies across the country.

For nearly four years, guest vocalist Jennifer Hope Wills starred as Christine in Broadway's longest running musical,Phantom of the Opera. Other Broadway credits include Wonderful Town, The Woman in White and Beauty and the Beast. In addition, she has starred in productions at many of the top regional theatres across the country including Showboat,Brigadoon, Aspects of Love and Rainbow, among others.

"We are honored to share the stage with two Broadway stars for an incredible night of music. I look forward to performing alongside the Orchestra in what is sure to be a special culmination to this season's Pops lineup," adds Golan.
