The Vermont Symphony Orchestra's annual season kick-off party takes place tonight, September 11, from 6:00-8:30 pm at the Eastside Restaurant in Newport. The Dancing Sail will provide a gourmet buffet (cash bar). The evening includes a raffle to win a hotel overnight in Burlington plus tickets for one of the VSO's Masterworks concerts. In addition, there will be a silent auction with many exciting items, and a live auction featuring a beautiful handmade quilt created by Carolyn Ferrara of Westfield.

Musical entertainment will be provided by a choral ensemble from Lake Region UHS, Dr. Sara Doncaster's "Power Rangers."

The cost for the event is $35 for adults; $25 for ages 13-17; $20 for under age 13. Attendance is limited. All proceeds support VSO concerts and educational programs in the North Country. Last season the VSO's SymphonyKids programs reached over 3500 school children in Orleans and Caledonia counties, with 27 presentations for 33 schools in 25 different communities.

Good music, good company, good food, and a good cause! To make a reservation or to get more information about "Symphony Sampler," call (802) 988-4786 or (800) VSO-9293 ext. 10.
