As reported by BroadwayWorld, NBC has announced that on Wednesday, July 6th, Broadway stars Megan Hilty and Matthew Morrison will visit "Today" during the 9 - 10 am hour to talk about their gig the next evening, July 7th, at the New York Pops Summer Concert at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY. Visit newyorkpops.org for tickets.

While discussing the program with NY1, the New York Pops' charismatic artistic director Steven Reineke suggests that the evening may turn into a "Smash" vs. "Glee" competition.

Hilty and Morrison are both Broadway favorites. She's starred as Glinda in WICKED and Doralee in 9 TO 5 and received a 2016 Tony Award nomination for her hilarious turn in NOISES OFF. He melted hearts in HAIRSPRAY, THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA and SOUTH PACIFIC and returned to Broadway last season as the star of FINDING NEVERLAND.

But they've both achieved fame singing as television regulars as well. She starred as Broadway trooper Ivy Lynn in "Smash" and he was music teacher Mr. Schue on "Glee."

Morrison wasn't around to comment on the competitive aspect of the evening, but Hilty eagerly proclaimed, "It's on!"
