The Longwood Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors Names Nick Adams Executive Director

The Longwood Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Nick Adams has been named Executive Director, effective July 1, 2014. The Longwood Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Search Committee interviewed several highly qualified candidates, and they unanimously and enthusiastically recommended Nick Adams to the board of trustees.

Thomas Sheldon, MD (Board Chairperson) said, "Nick is energetic, smart, and skilled. More than that, he brings a natural gift that allows him to understand and embrace our passion and drive to heal through music. I can't wait to introduce him to some of our founding members as well as the orchestra membership. The board has approved his appointment and looks forward to a successful and meaningful relationship."

Adams comes to the Longwood Symphony Orchestra from Symphony New Hampshire, where he served for seven years as the Director of Operations. Prior to that, he served as a member of the United States Air Force in the Heartland of America Band as a trombonist and operations manager. A 10-year military veteran, Adams currently serves in the Air National Guard as a personnel manager with the 102nd Intelligence Wing at Otis Air National Guard Base on Cape Cod.

"Very early in the application process, their mission resonated with me and quickly had me convinced that this was an organization I wanted to be a part of. Now that the chance has arrived, I'm moving forward with a great sense of excitement as we continue our work in the Boston arts and nonprofit communities."
