Hershey Symphony Orchestra Presents SYMPHONIC BLOCKBUSTERS Featuring Lara St. John Tonight
The Hershey Symphony Orchestra presents its Symphonic Blockbusters concert tonight, April 11, 2014 at 8 p.m. at The Hershey Theatre.
Symphonic Blockbusters features romantic and dramatic favorites including Camille Saint-Saens' Bacchanale from Samson et Dalila and Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 in E minor. Internationally-recognized violinist, Lara St. John, joins the ensemble to perform Max Bruch's Concerto for Violin No. 1 in G minor.
Canadian-born violinist Lara St. John has been described as "something of a phenomenon" by The Strad and a "high-powered soloist" by the New York Times. She has performed as soloist with the orchestras of Cleveland, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and with the Boston Pops, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, NDR Symphony, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Ireland, Amsterdam Symphony, Brazilian Symphony, Sao Paulo Symphony, China Philharmonic, Hong Kong Symphony, Tokyo Symphony, and the orchestras of Brisbane, Adelaide and Auckland among many others.

For more than four decades, the Hershey Symphony Orchestra has entertained music lovers throughout Central Pennsylvania. Established in 1969 as a chamber ensemble by a group of musicians at the Hershey Medical Center, the Hershey Symphony has grown to be one of the largest volunteer orchestras in the nation with eighty-plus members from throughout central Pennsylvania.
