The Desert Winds, Las Vegas' premiere contemporary wind ensemble, will perform "COLORATIONS In Amber" on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at CSN's Nicholas J. Horn Theatre (CSN Cheyenne Campus - 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas, NV 89030) at 7:30pm. The concert will feature celebrity vocalist Susan Anton and acclaimed composer Ralph Ford.

Ralph Ford is a composer, arranger, conductor, and clinician with nearly 30 years of university teaching experience. He is an exclusive composer and arranger for the Belwin division of Alfred Music in Los Angeles, California, with more than 250 titles for orchestra, concert band, jazz ensemble, and marching band. While touring Las Vegas, Mr. Ford will also work with select middle school band programs within the Clark County School District, as part of The Desert Winds' education outreach. Susan Anton's enduring stage career was launched in the mid '70s as a Las Vegas headliner. Throughout her career, she shared the stage with such legends as Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, George Burns, and her schoolgirl idol Sammy Davis Jr.

"COLORATIONS In Amber", is the final performance in the 2014-2015 season. The Desert Winds is a local wind ensemble led by artistic director, Charles A. Maguire. The group is comprised of more than 40 professional and semi-professional musicians, who primarily showcase music of contemporary composers. Now in their sixth season, The Desert Winds was voted Best Performing Arts Group in the Las Vegas Review-Journal's "Best of Las Vegas" poll in 2014 and 2015.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at www.thedesertwinds.org, or in person on the night of the concert. Attendees of this final concert of the 2014-2015 season will be able to purchase subscriptions to the 2015-2016 season in advance of the official on-sale date later this year.
