The Air Force Strings to Offer Free Concert at Hartt School Community Division, 8/4

The Air Force Strings will present a concert of String Orchestra music at the University of Hartford's Hartt School Community Division on August 4, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at Millard Auditorium on the University Campus, 200 Bloomfield Avenue, Hartford. The program will include works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Bartok, and Foote. Master Sgt. Mark Dorosheff will be featured as violin soloist in Mozart's Rondo in C major for Violin and Orchestra, K. 373. This performance is free and open to the public but tickets must be reserved. Call the University Box Office at 860.768.4228 or visit hartford.edu/tickets to reserve tickets. Free parking is available in parking lot D, across from the auditorium.

The Air Force Strings is the official string ensemble of the United States Air Force and is one of six musical ensembles that comprise The U.S. Air Force Band. Featuring 20 Airman musicians, the group performs music from a wide range of musical styles at education outreach performances, public concerts, and high-level military and government events. This ensemble frequently supports events hosted by the President, Vice President, Secretary of State, Secretary of the Air Force and other top military and civilian leaders.

As a part of The U.S. Air Force Band, the Air Force Strings honors those who have served, inspires American citizens to heightened patriotism and service, and positively impacts the global community on behalf of the U.S. Air Force and the United States of America. The excellence demonstrated by these Airman musicians is a reflection of the excellence carried out 24 hours a day by Airmen stationed around the globe. These professionals are proud to represent all Airmen, whose selfless service and sacrifices ensure the freedoms we enjoy as American citizens.
