The South Bend Symphony Orchestra will ring in the holiday season with its annual Home for the Holidays performances at the Morris Performing Arts Center tonight, December 20 at 8:00 p.m. and tomorrow, December 21 at 2:30 p.m. This family-friendly production, conducted by Maestro Tsung Yeh, features the full orchestra and the South Bend Festival Chorus, a collaboration of area church choirs. Acclaimed soprano Susan Nelson will also make a return appearance with the orchestra and Mayor Pete Buttigieg will join as narrator for The Sleigh Ride Story.

The program, based on a theme of "Sleigh Bells", will include Anderson's Sleigh Ride, Handel's "Hallelujah" chorus from Messiah, sing-a-longs with familiar carols, and other holiday favorites. And "yes, Virginia," there will be a Santa Claus.

This is Mayor Buttigieg's second appearance with SBSO. He made his début 2013 as the piano soloist for Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue.

Tickets are on sale at the Morris Box Office, by phone at 574-235-9190 or 800-537- 6415 or online at MorrisCenter.org.
