The Richmond County Orchestra (RCO) adds holiday cheer to the season with "Christmastime in Song and Dance" a FREE celebration in song and dance on Sunday, December 18, 5 p.m. at St. John's University, 300 Howard Avenue, Staten Island. The evening features The New American Ballet performing excerpts from the Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky and Swan Lake and will be joined by Dawn Daniels Dancers and local professional talent Kristin Palmeri performs "Text me Merry Christmas" and Giuseppe Taormina performs"O sole Mio" and O Holy Night"Guests can join in a family Christmas Carol sing along with special guests Brighton Heights Reformed Church String Ensemble.
Maestro Aurelia said, "Most dance companies do not perform with a full orchestra. This is an opportunity for see their talent showcased while accompanied by our orchestra."
SANTA and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to pose with kids for photos. There will be a 50/50 and prizes and goodies for the children. Performance is FREE thanks to support from St John's University Office of Community Relations and the Italian Cultural Center.
