Classical Movements will present a brand new young artist program for both instrumentalists and singers, debuting this summer in Prague. The Prague Summer Nights Young Artists Music Festival will premiere in the beautiful and historic city of Prague for concerts and opera performances, including four fully staged performances of Mozart's Don Giovanni under the stage direction of opera legend Sherrill Milnes and conductor John Nardolillo of the University of Kentucky School of Music.

These performances, using the famous 1991 production, sets and costumes of the Czech National Theatre, will be held in the Estates Theatre in Prague, where Don Giovanni was premiered under Mozart's baton in 1787. The Estates Theatre is the only remaining theater in the world where Mozart conducted. Participants in the program will live in the heart of historic Prague, and rehearse daily at the Czech National Theatre and the Estates Theatre.

Singers will perform in the production of Don Giovanni, directed by the legendary baritone Sherrill Milnes, the most recorded American opera singer in history, and the most celebrated Don Giovanni of our time. In addition to performing in Don Giovanni, singers will also have the opportunity to sing in an opera gala with the orchestra, participate in a fully staged scenes program, and perform in a cabaret program of works from the American songbook in one of Prague's famous jazz clubs.

All singers in the program will have private coaching with Sherrill Milnes, and all will have lessons and coaching sessions with members of the faculty. Singers will participate in staging rehearsals and performance preparation as well as receive Italian diction coaching. Performance opportunities include principal roles in the double-cast production of Don Giovanni, covers of principal roles in Don Giovanni, chorus roles in Don Giovanni, principal roles in opera scenes program, gala concert solos with the orchestra, and cabaret solo performances.

Orchestral musicians are invited to perform a major orchestral program for The Czech National Symphony's "Prague Proms Festival" at Prague's famous Smetana Hall, perform in Don Giovanni, as well as give an orchestral program of important orchestral works by Mozart at the Estates Theater, including the Symphony No. 38, "Prague," and other works that Mozart himself premiered in Prague.

Instrumentalists will have the opportunity to play chamber music and have coaching sessions and masterclasses from principals and members of the Czech National Symphony, the Prague Symphony, the Czech Philharmonic, and other major European orchestras. The concertmaster from a major European orchestra will give an intensive orchestral workshop during the program. Instrumental musicians will also have the opportunity to take private lessons from leading teachers from The Prague Conservatory, where Antonin Dvo?ák was the director. Instrumentalists will also have numerous performance opportunities, including a gala performance of opera repertoire, the opera scenes program, chamber music performances in historic Prague venues, and a cabaret performance in one of Prague's famous jazz clubs.

During the festival, participants will work with an internationally distinguished faculty of teachers, coaches, orchestral players, chamber musicians, conductors, and stage directors. The faculty have taught and sung at leading educational institutions and have conducted, sung with, or worked for the world's leading opera companies and orchestras, including The Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, New York Philharmonic, Dallas Symphony, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, to name a few.
