Pianist Jeffrey Siegel Returns to Three Stages in Folsom, 8/24

On the heels of his well-received series of lecture performances last season, the August 24 Keyboard Conversation with distinguished pianist Jeffrey Siegel promises an exciting exploration of some of the best-loved works in the classical canon.

The program will include performance and commentary on works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Grieg, Gershwin, de Falla, Rimsky-Korsakov and others.

The first Keyboard Conversation with Jeffrey Siegel for the 2012-13 season will take place in Three Stages on Friday, August 24 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $19-29 with Premium tickets available for $39; tickets for students with ID are a real bargain at $7. Mr. Siegel’s Keyboard Conversations are a unique, concert-plus-commentary format in which he speaks to the audience about the music before performing each work in its entirety. Newcomers to classical concerts have greeted these programs enthusiastically; Mr. Siegel has also developed a following among seasoned music-lovers, who are constantly enlightened by his erudition and delighted by his wit.

He has been soloist with the world's great orchestras. Abroad, these include the Berlin Philharmonic, London Symphony, Philharmonic and Philharmonia, Moscow State Symphony, Bayerischer Rundfunk, The Hague Residentie Orkest, Oslo Philharmonic, Stockholm Philharmonic, Orchestra of La Scala and NHK Symphony of Japan. In the United States, engagements include the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Siegel has collaborated with many of the pre-eminent conductors of our time: Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez, Charles Dutoit, Neeme Järvi, James Levine, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Leonard Slatkin, Michael Tilson Thomas and David Zinman, as well as legendary maestros of the past, including Eugene Ormandy, Sir George Solti, William Steinberg, Klaus Tennstedt and Yevgeny Svetlanov.

Three Stages at Folsom Lake College presents touring artists from around the world; partners with the best regional arts organizations, and supports productions by FLC students and faculty.
