Pianist Anna Han to Perform at the Lawrence Theatre in Kansas, 10/12

The Dave and Gunda Hiebert Concert Series will feature the 1st prize winner of the 2012 New York International Piano Competition, Anna Han.

As a young pianist, Anna Han of Chandler, Arizona, started taking piano lessons with her current teacher, Mr. Fei Xu at New Century Conservatory at age five.

Now 17 years old, she has garnered prizes at numerous prestigious international and national piano competitions, including the first prize of the 2012 New York International Piano Competition, the first prize of the 2011 New Orleans International Piano Competition for Young Artists, the first prizes of both the 2011 and 2008 HYM International Piano Competitions, and first place of the 2007 MTNA National Junior Piano Competition.

Anna's Lawrence concert will feature Gershwin's Etude No. 6, I Got Rhythm, Beethoven's Sonata in E-Flat Major, Chopin's Nocturne in C minor, as well as an arrangement of Isold'es Liebestod from Tristan ind Isolde by Wagner and Liszt.

Anna has soloed with the MusicaNova Symphony Orchestra, Chandler Symphony Orchestra, the Verde Valley Sinfonietta, the and twice with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in such venues as the at the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C, the New World Center in Miami, Lied Center of Kansas, Scottsdale Center for the Arts, Mesa Center for the Arts, and the Temple Emanu-EI in New York City. An alumnus of National Public Radio s show, From the Top, she has also given solo performances at the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy in Chicago and for PianoWorks in New London, Connecticut.
