"Barbeque and Brahms" is being hosted by the Pacific Symphony League (Pacific Symphony's largest support group). The event takes place at the exclusive, sprawling 20-acre Scotts Ranch in Thermal (near Palm Springs), Calif., owned by Symphony supporter and League member Gwen Williams, today, November 2, 2013.

The League is throwing a spectacular Western-style barbeque and inviting the public to attend! In addition to a delicious lunch and entertainment (live music), guests are invited to take guided tours of the estate's expansive gardens, equestrian facilities and a veritable menagerie of exotic animals including turtles, a fully plumed ostrich, pure-bred horses, ponies and a plethora of wild birds that flock to the ranch's fountain-fed lagoon. All of this sits beside distant waving fields of alfalfa and towering date palms that can be explored on foot or riding in the comfort of a golf cart. Also, get a sneak peek at the latest in fall designs during a fashion show by Chico's, featuring apparel and accessories; and view a brilliant collection of original paintings by world-renowned artist, "Merrill," known for his naturalist style of high-desert imagery.

The event is set for today, Nov. 2 (RSVP by Friday, Oct. 25, to Jennifer Greenwalt at jgreenwalt@PacificSymphony.org; (714) 876-2374); departure by motor coach from Antonello Ristorante at 9:30 a.m. (returning at 7:30 p.m.). The cost is $125, per person.

The League's proceeds benefit Pacific Symphony's many artistic and education programs!
