Holiday cheer will fill The DiMenna Center for Classical Music when Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) presents its third annual Holiday Sing tonight, December 17, 2014 at 7:30 PM. The DiMenna Center's largest hall will be filled with neighbors from Hell's Kitchen and across the five boroughs, joining their voices together in a celebration of the season. The Holiday Sing is presented as part of OSL@DMC, Orchestra of St. Luke's series of free, interactive music events at its home.

At this festive, family-friendly sing-along, OSL accompanies as audience members become the choir-no matter their age or singing experience. The sing will again be hosted by the charismatic choir director Sanna Valvanne. Ms. Valvanne will prepare and lead the audience in singing the melodies and harmonies to traditional Christmas and Hanukkah favorites from around the globe.

The program will open with a spotlight on the orchestra in a beautiful instrumental selection, the Gigue from Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3. OSL will be conducted by Scott Dunn, who arranged many of the carols specifically for this event. For two of the carols, OSL will be joined by members of Youth Orchestra of St. Luke's, OSL's intensive in- and after-school music education program in Hell's Kitchen.

The sing will be followed by a reception with hot chocolate and other holiday treats.

Nothing brings out the spirit of the season like holiday music and the company of family, friends, and neighbors. The Holiday Sing is becoming a tradition in OSL's Midtown Manhattan community!
