The memory and accomplishments of Avery Fisher - the sound equipment pioneer, philanthropist, and New York Philharmonic Board Member - will be honored at the New York Philharmonic concert March 24, 2015. The performance also honors Avery Fisher's family for their support of classical music performance and education. Speakers will include Philharmonic Music Director Alan Gilbert, Philharmonic President Matthew VanBesien, Lincoln Center President Jed Bernstein, and pianist and former Avery Fisher Prize winner Emanuel Ax.

That evening, the New York Philharmonic Archives will present an exhibit on Avery Fisher and Fisher Electronics, including photographs and business documents. His legacy will also later be recognized with the establishment of the Avery Fisher Classical Music Wing of the newly announced Lincoln Center Hall of Fame, and he will be among its first group of inductees.

The concert features Alan Gilbert leading the Orchestra in Esa-Pekka Salonen's Nyx; Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major, with Philharmonic Artist-in-Association and Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient Inon Barnatan in his Philharmonic debut; Debussy's Jeux; and R. Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier Suite.
