MusicaNova begins its thirteenth season in September 2015 with an expanded lineup of events, continuing its mission to play great new, neglected, and traditional music and introduce the finest young musicians to audiences in the Valley of the Sun. It's MusicaNova's goal to give each audience member "the greatest musical experience you've never had - yet." The MusicaNova Season is comprised of its Orchestra Concerts held in the Central Arts District; Collaborative Concerts performing with musicians from other genres such as jazz, Caribbean and Brazilian music; Salon Concerts in private homes; and its Young Artists Series, showcasing the Valley's brightest young musicians under age 18 in recital.

The MusicaNova Orchestra is comprised of many of the Valley's leading classical musicians and educators, and performers with its Young Artist Series have gone on to attend prestigious conservatories including Julliard, Oberlin and Peabody.

In addition to its concert series, MusicaNova supports two educational programs:

  • The MusicaNova Composition Fellows Program finds fine young composers and gives them intense, hands-on mentoring in the preparation, rehearsal, and performance of one of their works. This season features the world premiere of two Composition Fellows' works in an orchestra concert.
  • The Educational Outreach and Collaboration Program, where MNO musicians visit partner schools and music teaching organizations around the Valley to play and talk with students about their aspirations, inspirations, and lives as musicians. This season students from MNO partner schools will join the orchestra for Shostakovich Seven in April 2016.
