Music of Timothy Mahr Performed by MU's Concert Band & Wind Ensemble Tonight

Millersville University Concert Band & Wind Ensemble perform the music of Composer Dr. Timothy Mahr titled, "Artistry and Art Works" at the Winter Center located at 60 West Cottage Avenue in Millersville, PA tonight, April 17 at 7:30 pm. Mahr is a professor of music at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and conductor of the St. Olaf Band. Mahr is perhaps best known for his compositions for concert band, including the highly descriptive tone poem "The Soaring Hawk" (1990), and "Endurance" (1991), which is based on Shackleton's attempt to reach the South Pole, commissioned by the American Bandmasters Association Commissioning Project.

Tickets for this performance are $10 and MU student tickets are Free with valid ID. Tickets can be purchased by calling 717-871-7600 or visit www.ArtsMU.com. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Ticket Office located in the Student Memorial Center on Millersville's campus, or the Ware Center, located at 42 N. Prince Street, in Lancaster. Doors open one hour before each show for ticket sales, subject to availability.
