Sunday May 11th at The Highline Ballroom, burlesque legends will join their contemporary counterparts for a bawdy and beautiful brunch saluting the mothers of burlesque!

Join The New York Burlesque Festival & The School of Burlesque this Mother's Day as they present The Legendary Mother's Day Burlesque Brunch. This event will honor three performers from the Golden Age of Burlesque including; Russ Meyer girl and burlesque icon, Hollywood's Kitten Natividad, "the epitome of excellence" San Diego's beautiful Shannon Doah and she was known as "The Sepia Sally Rand", and New Yorks own Jean Idelle!

Hosted by The World Famous *BOB* this amazing event will feature an appearance by Jean Idelle and performances by Kitten Natividad & Shannon Doah, plus top notch acts by modern day superstars Angie Pontani, Jo Boobs, Mr. Gorgeous, Kitten & Lou, Gal Friday and music by DJ MomoTaro.

The event will also feature a question and answer panel with these legendary burlesque queens, hosted by Jo Weldon of the School of Burlesque.

Plus you will have an opportunity to meet Jean Idelle, Kitten Natividad and Shannon Doah in person at their post show autograph signing!

This is the first time in over a quarter of a century that these legends of burlesque are being showcased in New York City. This is truly a one of a kind event, not to be missed.

KITTEN NATIVIDAD // www.kittenklub.com - Kitten Natividad is world famous star of stage, screen and magazines. Twice winner of Miss Nude Universe 1973 and also 1974, she was also the star of Russ Myers' cult classic, Beneath the Valley of the Ultra Vixens and Up. Kitten has made countless appearances on television and in movies. She is a burlesque queen that has headlined and featured in shows all over Canada, Europe and the U. S. This saucy stars first love is burlesque, and she has fueled that career and packed houses by starring in films being a glorious pinup! Kitten is so renowned, she was hand picked to be the performer for Sean Penn's Bachelor party when he wed Madonna. Straight from Mexico herself, there is only one ultra vixen, the one and only Kitten Natividad.

SHANNON DOAH // www.vintageshowgirl.com - Shannon Doah's 30 plus years in burlesque began in the 60's. She first danced in San Francisco's infamous North Beach and Hollywood strip and go go clubs. She was a featured dancer at "The Losers" nightclub in the first US production of the "Crazy Horse Paris" production and toured as an exotic striptease dancer in the US and Internationally until the mid 90's. She returned to the stage to perform in Las Vegas at the Burlesque Hall of Fame and is again an in-demand headliner. Robin Leach, host of "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" describes Shannon Doah as the "epitome of elegance"."

JEAN IDELLE: Jean was in the Katherine Dunham's experimental company in New York City, when she was discovered by the famous Minsky Burlesque show in 1950. Known for her famous Ostrich fans she toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada. While on tour she met the love of her life, Bill Holliday (Master of Ceremony, Trumpet Player and Ventriloquist). The couple traveled the country together performing in shows from New York to San Francisco.

Jean was twice pictured in Jet Magazine. Other magazine spreads included Hue Magazine and Our World Magazine. Jean Idelle's greatest legacy to the Burlesque World was that she integrated many white night clubs throughout the United States and Canada. Jean was a true professional who mastered the art of burlesque, she was the headliner for every show she performed in. Jean is forever grateful that the Burlesque Community of today has recognized her accomplishments and honored her as a legend. When asked if she ever had difficulty performing at an all white club, Jean stated "No the crowd was more interested in seeing me perform.
