Lynn Harrell to Join ASO for Dvorak Cello Concerto, 3/28

American cellist Lynn Harrell will join the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) and Music Director Robert Spano to perform the Dvo?ák Cello Concerto Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 8:00 p.m., and Friday, March 27, 2015, at 8:00 p.m. at Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center. The program will also include Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.

Mr. Harrell is widely recognized as a consummate soloist, chamber musician, recitalist, conductor and teacher, and he performs regularly throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. He has won two Grammy Awards, and has an extensive discography of more than 30 recordings. Mr. Harrell was also the recipient of the first Avery Fisher Award.

Mr. Spano and the Orchestra will return to the Savannah Music Festival on Saturday, March 28, 2015, to perform Dvo?ák's Cello Concerto with Lynn Harrell and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. This will mark the Orchestra's ninth visit to the Festival.

The Savannah Music Festival is dedicated to presenting a world-class celebration of the musical arts by creating timeless and adventurous productions that stimulate arts education, foster economic growth, and unite artists and audiences in Savannah. It is the largest musical arts event in Georgia and one of the most distinctive cross-genre music festivals in the world.

The 2015 festival runs March 19-April 4, 2015, and includes nearly 100 performances of world-class jazz, classical, blues, bluegrass, gospel and other genres of American and international roots music in intimate venues throughout Savannah's historic district.
