Justin Roberts to Bring RECESS to Symphony Space, 11/16
Grammy-nominated and winner of seven Parent Choice Gold Awards, Justin Roberts and the Not Ready for Naptime Players returns for their annual power-pop family concerts at Symphony Space.
Millions have seen Justin on Sprout, The Today Show and Nick Jr. TV, and one of his songs ("Get Me Some Glasses") was featured on a World Series broadcast.
Find out firsthand why Justin is known for creating "a barrage of powerpop anthems that betters anything released recently in kindie rock land" (About.com). A former Montessori preschool teacher, Justin clearly remembers what it was like to be a kid - and his high energy, smart sound will get everyone in the family on their feet, dancing and singing along.
For these Just Kidding shows, Justin will perform hits like "Willy Was a Whale" and "Pop Fly," plus songs from his newly released, Parents' Choice and NAPPA Gold Award-winning album, Recess. Justin was nominated for a Grammy in 2010 for his release Jungle Gym. He is currently finishing up a picture book due for publication in fall 2014.
Stay tuned for all of this season's eclectic and exciting performances for families at Symphony Space. This Saturday, it's a retro dance party with Dog on Fleas (November 2). Tots get their first Live Theatre experience with "Hatched" by The Treehouse Shakers (November 9). Don't miss Putumayo Kids artist Asheba's calypso concert (November 23) or Smithsonian Folkways artist ELIZABETH MITCHELL's homespun holiday show (December 14).
