Jordan Roth Becomes Principal Owner of Jujamcyn Theaters

According to Variety, the President of Jujamcyn Theaters Jordan Roth has become the company's principal owner after making a tranaction with previous co-owner Rocco Landesman. Roth, who is 37, is now the youngest owner of one of the major Broadway operators.

Landesman will become 'president emeritus' of Jujamcyn Theaters after the deal, which though was not revealed is expected to have involved 'tens of millions of dollars.' Roth has been with the company since 2005 and has had a 50% stake since 2009. He told Variety: "We'll continue to fulfill our mission to champion shows that push theatrical boundaries and to deliver hospitality with the goal of redefining the theatergoing and theatermaking experience."

Roth is the President of Jujamcyn Theaters whose recent productions include The Heiress, Bring It On, The Book of Mormon, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and Jersey Boys, among others. He also created Givenik.com, where theatergoers can purchase discounted tickets and give 5% of their ticket price to the charity of their choice. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC), Freedom to Marry, Young Patrons of Lincoln Center Theatre, and the Horace Mann School, of which he is an alumnus.
