Fells Point Corner Theatre presents AMADEUS by Peter Shaffer. Directed by Barry Feinstein, the play will run Friday, May 2nd through Sunday, June 1st, 2014.

This provocative work, which won both a Tony Award and an Academy Award, weaves a confrontation between mediocrity and genius into a tale of breathtaking dramatic power. Salieri has given himself to God so that he might realize his sole ambition to be a great composer, while Mozart is a silly, graceless young man who has that which is beyond Salieri's envious grasp: Genius.

Amadeus is directed by Barry Feinstein, who began directing at the old corner theatre in 1976. He directed Tales of Ordinary Madness in February as well as last season's highly acclaimed Glengarry Glen Ross. In addition, he has directed Ruined, The Seafarer, The Miser, The Homecoming and Bug, in recent years, just to name a few. Barry is a certified speech pathologist, who teaches FPCT's very popular acting workshops as well as directing the "Ann Street Inspired Players," formerly known as the "Challenged Ensemble."

Featured in the cast are: Lisa Bryan, John Damato, Ron Decker, Dawn Douglas, Holly Gibbs, Rick Lyon-Vaiden, J.R. Lyston, Jeff Murray, Jonathan Sachsman and Mark Wagner.

(Please note that all Sunday Matinees for Amadeus will begin at 2 pm) Dates: Friday, May 2nd - Sunday, June 1st, 2014; Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. *(There will also be two Thursday performances of Amadeus on May 15th and May 22nd at 8pm). Admission: $15 for Thursdays and Sundays, $20 for Fridays and Saturdays. For tickets, go to www.fpct.org.
