Due To Popular Demand New Show On Sale For Ludovico Einaudi At QPAC

Following his sell-out 2015 Queensland debut, chart-topping Italian composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi will return to Queensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC's) Concert Hall to perform his highly anticipated new album Elements on Friday 10 February 2017, with an extra concert now on sale for Saturday 11 February due to popular demand.

Einaudi has topped the iTunes classical chart with nine consecutive singles, produced 13 record-breaking albums and composed a string of film scores. His latest album Elements, released in 2015, takes inspiration from the elements of nature, mathematics, science, musical forms, and works of art, and features beautiful and poignant tracks of interweaving piano, strings, percussion, guitar and electronica.

The album will be visually brought to life onstage for audiences through the use of striking multimedia and lighting techniques.

Born in Turin (Northern Italy), Einaudi trained as a classical composer and pianist and has gone on to become one of the most influential and popular composers in the UK, Europe and beyond. Einaudi's genre-defying music has been described as minimalist, alt-classical, ambient and contemporary.

Einaudi sums it up: "There is something in it that comes from classical, but I have influences from different music I have experienced in my life, from African music to folk and rock."

Einaudi created a social media sensation in June this year when he performed his solo original work Elegy for the Arctic on a floating platform against the backdrop of the Wahlenbergbreen glacier (in Svalbard, Norway) on the Arctic Ocean. The concert was an attempt to draw attention to the plight of the region through music.
