ChamberMusicNY, a nonprofit presenting organization, has announced that its 2014-15 season will include the professional recital debut of Ashley Jennifer Jackson, harp; a commission from composer Danielle Eva Schwob; the American Modern Ensemble conducted by David Alan Miller; and the percussion ensemble Talujon.

According to Executive Director David Krivit, CMNY's mission is to introduce New Yorkers to live chamber music while featuring New York's next wave of professional musicians. With the help of community programs including Goddard Riverside Community Center, USO-Metropolitan NY, Third Street Music School Settlement, Greenwich House, the YM-YWHA of Washington Heights/Inwood and others, ChamberMusicNY distributes free tickets to audiences typically underserved by chamber music organizations.

The new season opens on Saturday September 20, 2014 at 8pm when CMNY returns to The Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center at Lincoln Center to present an outstanding harpist in her professional recital debut, Ashley Jennifer Jackson. To commemorate this privilege, CMNY has commissioned composer Danielle Eva Schwob for a new work for harp and string quartet, to be premiered at this concert. Ms. Jackson and Ms. Schwob have worked together before and CMNY is excited to have made this possible, courtesy of the Mark Krivit New Music Fund at ChamberMusicNY.

On Thursday, October 30, for its second concert, CMNY moves to the north end of Lincoln Center at Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Music Center to present the 10th season opening concert of American Modern Ensemble with guest conductor David Alan Miller. For this Halloween concert, AME is performing haunted-themed music including David Del Tredici's Dracula. This concert is co-presented with AME and CMNY is honored to be presenting with such a successful chamber orchestra.

The season continues on Saturday April 11, 2015 when CMNY presents pianist Emir Gamsizoglu and members of American Modern Ensemble in a program of Stravinsky, Schumann, and Shostakovich. We return to The Bruno Walter Auditorium to enjoy one of Stravinsky's chamber works, Three Pieces For String Quartet. Shostakovich's Piano Trio No. 2 follows and after intermission, Schumann's great Piano Quintet in Eb major, one of the great chamber compositions of the Romantic period and one of Schumann's finest as well. This concert is generously underwritten by William Greenberg Desserts.

To conclude the 2014-2015 season, on Saturday May 16, 2015 ChamberMusicNY presents at The Bruno Walter Auditorium the exciting percussion ensemble Talujon. The ensemble explores over 40 years of percussion compositions from Lou Harrison's Song of the Quetzalcoatl to Steve Reich's legendary Drumming, Part I.
