Dark-fired tobacco is one of the nation's oldest and richest cash crops, and notoriously precarious. The new five-episode series TOBACCO WARS takes an unfiltered look inside the lives of fourth and fifth generation Adairville, Ky. farmers who BET everything they have on the high-stakes dark fire industry, premiering Saturday, April 19 at 10:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT.

In tobacco country, carefully guarded farming know-how and family traditions are passed down - and freedom is as essential as the air they breathe. It's a high-stress world, but these folks blow off steam with ease, living their country life to the fullest with endless wagering and outrageous country-boy hijinks.

In the first episode premiering Saturday, planting season is underway. The Gainous farm welcomes home college student Zeke, but questions whether his farm work is up to snuff after spending time away at college. Across the county at the Law farm, Mark Law battles with his two best workers -- his daughters -- who just can't seem to make it to work on time.

TOBACCO WARS is produced by Leftfield Pictures. Executive producers are Brent Montgomery, David George, Jordana Hochman and Matthew J. Braley. David Brown, Augi Jakovac, Chuck Ardezzone and Frank Monti are co-executive producers. Lewis Bogach and Joe Livecchi serve as executive producers for CMT.
