June 30, just two weeks away, the San Diego Symphony's biggest summer season ever kicks off at Embarcadero Marina Park South. Bayside Summer Nights will be back, bringing San Diego spectacular live concert music along the stunning San Diego Waterfront:

  • New this year is live music by local DJs on Friday nights, and every night, the Bayside Brews refreshments area, featuring local craft beers from breweries like Stone Brewing Co., Coronado Brewing Company and other San Diego-favorites. As always, there's a great list of wines to choose from, as well as fresh grab-and-go meals and appetizers that make the ultimate pre-concert picnic. Outside food is also allowed inside, making your dining options endless. Gates open at 6 p.m., and concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy an evening of food, beverages and fun.

The concert series opens with a bang, literally:

  • June 30 - July 2, Star Spangled Pops: This three-day weekend event from June 30 to July 2 will pay tribute to America and its music. The Symphony will be performing a variety of beloved tunes, from movies and Broadway to patriotic favorites, including a salute to the armed forces and a fireworks show! (Fireworks happen at the conclusion of all Friday and Saturday night concerts, as well as the Sunday night of Star Spangled Pops and the closing weekend concerts - 1812 Tchaikovsky Spectacular).
  • July 4, America's Birthday with Wyonna Judd: Wyonna Judd will take the Bayside stage on the Fourth of July to help celebrate America's birthday. The nights will conclude with the Big Bay Boom fireworks show and concertgoers will have a front row seat!

The season continues with major stars:

  • July 6, Herb Albert + Lani Hall: From pop gems "Tijuana Taxi" and "A Taste of Honey" to alter hits like "rise," Herb Alpert has for over five decades entertained generations with his elegant yet lively trumpet style, perfect for a romantic, lively evening by the Bay. His partner in music and life, singer Lani Hall, will join him in concert.
  • July 7-8, Leslie Odom, Jr.: The breakout star from Broadway's phenomenal Hamilton brings his artistry and showmanship to the Bayside stage. Leslie Odom, Jr. wowed the Great White Way with his thrilling portrayal of Hamilton's nemesis Aaron Burr, winning the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
  • July 12, Tony Bennett: A true living legend, Tony Bennett has been part of American pop culture for more than 60 years. His distinctive vocal style and continuing collaborations with today's emerging stars make him one of America's most beloved and admired entertainers.
  • July 14-15, Air Supply: Starting with "Lost in Love" in 1980, Air Supply was a fixture for over a decade, releasing monster romantic hits like "All Out of Love," "The One That You Love," Hitchock and Graham Russel, bringing their classic hits to the Embarcadero.
