In celebration of the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra's 40th Anniversary the BSO has commissioned a new work by composer Brett Kroening. This work will make its world premiere in our final concert of the season, "Symphonic Metamorphosis" tonight, May 31 and June 2.

Mr. Kroening is an active, international composer currently based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Brett has received commissions from The Copper Street Brass Quintet, Rocky Mountain Brassworks, Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, Camarata Music Company (Seoul, Korea), Waterloo Sound Conspiracy, Mayfield High School Orchestra and Band, Bosque Preparatory School Wind Ensemble, and others throughout New Mexico, Colorado, California, Washington, Minnesota, Utah, and Texas.

Also featured on this concert is Violinist MariAnne Martinoli, winner of the BSO's 2013 Young Artist Competition Winner. Ms. Martinoli, 16 year old home scholar from Monroe Washington, has been studying violin for 12 years, the last 6 of which have been with UW Professor Ron Patterson. She is currently the concertmaster with both The Seattle Youth Symphony and The Academy Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Martinoli recently won The 2012 Bushell Concerto Competition and made her solo debut with Seattle Symphony at the December 2012 Annual Holiday Gala.

Bookending the program is Carl Maria von Weber's Overture and March from Turandot and the work it inspired, Paul Hindemith's 20th century masterpiece, Symphonic Metamorphosis. This concert will surely bring down the roof with its highflying energy and orchestral color! Don't miss a minute of the BSO's 40th anniversary season finale!
