Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra is pleased to offer an enticing fall performance featuring a Brass Ensemble and Flute Duo in a special outdoor location on September 14. Bloedel Reserve, Bainbridge Island's award-winning public garden will provide music lovers with an intoxicating mixture of sights and sounds in this collaborative presentation.

The Brass Ensemble pieces will include Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" and will feature Kevin Gilman, Chris Thomas, Paul Shepherd, and Bob Kennicott (trumpet), Richard Davis and Jeff Jensen (horn), Bud Parker and Dick Heine (trombone), Jas Linford (tuba), Susan Tolley (timpani), and Art Whitson (percussion).

Lisa Hirayama and Jared LeClerc comprise the Flute Duo, and they will perform Mozart's Duet No. 4 for two C flutes, op. 75 and Johann Joachim Quantz's Duet No. 1 for two alto flutes, op. 5.

This special performance precedes BSO's rousing inaugural concert of the season - TOI TOI TOI! - AN OPERA SHOWCASE - on November 23 & 24 at Bainbridge Performing Arts.

The BSO Brass Ensemble and Flute Duo appear one day only on Saturday, September 14 at 4:30 p.m.; doors open at 4:00 p.m. at Bloedel Reserve, 7571 NE Dolphin Drive, Bainbridge Island. Tickets are $16 for Bloedel Reserve members and $19 for general admission and may be purchased by phone at 206.842.7631 or online at Brown Paper Tickets.

A non-profit organization, the Bloedel Reserve is an internationally renowned public garden whose primary mission is to provide a tranquil and refreshing experience of nature. The Reserve's 150 acres are a unique blend of natural woodlands and beautifully landscaped gardens, including a Japanese Garden, a Moss Garden, and Reflection Pool, and the Bloedel's former French Country Chateau-style estate home. The Bloedel Reserve is open to the public year-round Tuesdays-Sundays.
