Amor Artis Chorus and New York Baroque Incorporated will perform a concert of bold and boisterous works from Handel's early years in Italy. Conducted by Artistic Director Ryan James Brandau, the program will feature Dixit Dominus, selections from solo vocal cantatas, and the Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No. 1 in G Major.

"This program lets us hear Handel's early, more experimental voice," Brandau says. "The fireworks of the vocal lines, the athletic string writing, and the unexpected harmonies give the sense that he had fallen head over heels for the Baroque Italian opera and instrumental style. The cantatas distill all the drama of opera into a single character."
