2Cellos & A Great Big World to Play Manhattan Center's Grand Ballroom, 10/17

The innovative Croatian cello duo 2CELLOS will perform at theManhattan Center's Grand Ballroom on Thursday, October 17 at 7:30 PM. New York City-based pop duo A Great Big World will open the show.

After the success of their debut tour here earlier this year, cellists Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, known as 2CELLOS, are excited to be back in the U.S. to perform again. They especially enjoy showing audiences just how versatile a cello can be. "We've succeeded in extending the possibilities of the cello through our music and we love sharing it with our fans," say the band.

The concerts include songs from their self-titled debut album as well as their internationally acclaimed second release IN2ITION. Their unique classically inspired interpretations of songs as diverse as Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal," Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)," Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit," and Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" have become massive viral hits. 2Cellos were also the first instrumental act to ever perform on the hugely popular TV series "Glee." With recent performances alongside Elton John and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Luka and Stjepan's successes extends far beyond YouTube as their fan base continues to grow around the world.

Opening for 2CELLOS will be pop duo A Great Big World. Their latest single, "Say Something" made its television debut on Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" and instantly resonated with audiences everywhere. This follows up a bevy of notable placements for the duo, including the cast of "Glee" covering their anthem, "This Is the New Year," earlier in 2013. The song has also served as the title track for the movie "New Year's Eve" as well as the theme for MTV's "I Used To Be Fat" with additional syncs on "Amazing Race," "One Tree Hill," "ESPN," and "Good Morning America."
