MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif.

The glitz of Atlantic City casinos merges with the desperation of a blackmailed club owner and murder ensues in author William P. Singley's mystery novel, "Didja' Hear? Danny Devlin's Dead" (published by iUniverse). Singley is launching a new marketing push for the 2013 publication, which was recently featured at the 2014 Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany.

Tommy Palmer and Billy Frisco weren't meant to be rivals. It just happened. Tommy liked to sit in Billy's jazz club and listen to Billy's girlfriend, Carla, sing. That's where he was the rainy night Danny Devlin was shot during a botched post office robbery.

Billy's no killer. He's a lounge guy. A loan shark. A dim bulb along the edge of the high glitz and neon of Atlantic City's casinos. But with gangsters calling the shots and his club on the line, there isn't much Billy wouldn't do to keep it, including murder.

In this vivid portrait of the Atlantic City lifestyle, crime and reluctant murder take center stage as gangsters force a club owner to do the unthinkable.
