Will Kalinke Releases MARK AND THE MYSTIC MARBLE

TOMAHAWK, Wis.

After his mother dies in a car accident, a confused and grief-stricken boy named Mark runs away from home to find his identity. The only thing of value he takes with him is a priceless marble that belonged to his mother - the only person who understood his confusion.

In Will Kalinke's 2010 fiction "Mark and the Mystic Marble" (published by Trafford Publishing), Mark must overcome various obstacles on his journey to self-realization. Little does Mark know, his mother's precious marble will help him survive numerous challenges and eventually bring him back to his grieving father.

Kalinke says the story of his book was inspired by his personal experience as a confused teenager wrestling with his sexual identity. He spent time working with runaways and parolees to gain perspective on the issues about which he writes.

"At one time I was a teen seeking my identity, nearly ran away and found answers," Kalinke says. "I applied my experiences and knowledge through helping future generations by writing applicable legislation and administrating services and programs for the education of youth with special needs."

This year, Kalinke's book will be submitted to the U.S. Review of Books, as well as considered for the Eric Hoffer Award, a designation awarded annually to books displaying significant merit.
