Zed Merrill chronicles the nostalgic childhood adventures he had while growing up in a small Oregon town. His new book, "Rainbows in My Pocket" (published by Trafford Publishing), shares pieces of personal history told in anecdotes and short stories that entertain and provide some much-needed life lessons.

"Growing up as a kid during those times in a small town like Albany, Oregon, is an experience that might be difficult to describe to today's generation, but I'm willing to give it a try." Merrill says. According to him, his experience can be related to by readers who know what it was like, whether they were from Maine, Illinois, or California, as he is certain that they will see themselves somewhere in one of his stories. Maybe they will see themselves going deep for one of those back lot passes, racing a pal to kick the can in the middle of a street or swinging from a ring for a swan dive into a lazy river - as these are but some of the idyllic memories Merrill recalls.

"Rainbows in My Pocket: The Life and Times of a Former Kid in Small Town America" is a snapshot of precious times that have gone by, a reminiscence of careless hijinks with friends, seemingly simple moments that are nonetheless priceless to those who hold them dear.
