Author W. Todd Pedersen follows the lives of two men through the decades as they are torn between good and evil in his new novel based on historical events, "Owned" (published by CrossBooks).

Ivan Pawlick, the story's main character, is a Nazi guard who comes to realize he is completely owned by the Nazi regime. Ivan needs liberation from his superiors and their diabolical plan to form a post-World War II Nazi world order. With the blood of innocent people on his hands, he knows he needs atonement for his crimes. But how does one obtain forgiveness from a victim who is dead?

The book moves on to the 1990s, where Dr. Davis Young, an ambitious environmental scientist, wants to save Earth from the effects of overdevelopment, but needs funding and connections. When a shadowy man reaches out to him, it is up to the former Nazi to convince Young that he is being used by men who are doing the same things the Nazis did in Germany in the 1930s and '40s.

"'Owned' makes the case that all men are captives of Satan whether they admit it or not," Pedersen says. "This is the heart of the Gospel; mankind is doomed to eternal separation from God unless they take advantage of the work of Jesus Christ."
