In his desire to express his vision of how things ought to be, author Vern L. Alford pens the story of "The Providential President" (published by Xlibris) to depict how America should respond to terrorist attacks both politically and militarily.

In the aftermath of the worst terrorist attack since 9/11, the newly elected president, William C. Hudnall, is forced to action. He defies political correctness and strikes against America's enemies both at home and abroad, taking the nation by surprise. Sticking to his vow, he intentionally deceives the public, ruins his reputation and causes his family pain, all the while using his secret resources to bring ultimate justice to the world of the jihadist.

"'The Providential President' deals with issues of today: immigration, terror attacks, energy supplies and the blight of political correctness," says Alford. Predicated in the idea that a real person doing what he or she perceives to be right will encourage others to take a stand for justice, this book is meant to help readers realize that there is hope that America can be great again.
