South Orange, N.J.

In her new paperback edition of her book, "Thru the Waters, Thru the Fire: A Devotional coming out of my own life's journey" (published by AuthorHouse), author Theresa Andrews shares original poetry from a place of tremendous emotional pain. She hopes to encourage others by sharing a part of her journey, just as others' stories encouraged her during the most difficult time of her life.

Andrews feels the fight against breast cancer gave her a new appreciation for life and a renewed mind to serve God. But at the time of her diagnosis, she was confronted with many questions and frustrations and needed to express her innermost feelings of fear, hurt, doubt and anxiety.

The original and refreshing poetry in "Thru the Waters, Thru the Fire" is meant to encourage wounded souls. Andrews identifies with readers in this aspect, and seeks to represent not only realness of tough times with transparency, but also the important part God played in helping her make it through her trial.

"Everyone is, has been or will be involved in a struggle at some time in his or her life," Andrews says. "I want readers to take away from my book hope and the love of God and the ability to go forward while knowing that they are not alone."
