'The Kiss' by Camelia Rose is Released

Sometimes there is no happily ever after.

In Camelia Rose's new fiction "The Kiss," a print of Gustav Klimt's painting with the same name reminds main character Janine Pinchpenny of her adulterous indiscretions in Peru years ago. Now in her 60s, Janine's tumultuous past catches up with her when she reconnects with her ex-husband.

Filled with deception, passion and greed, "The Kiss" is an intriguing, passion-filled read that reminds audiences where true imagination can lead when you let it run wild.

"Life is sometimes a self-made prison," Rose says. "Imagination can open its windows."

Born in Indonesia, raised for three years in a concentration camp in Batavia and schooled in The Netherlands all before immigrating with her family to the United States in 1957, Rose has a varied and cultured past.

Her childhood abroad and rich life experiences as an adult have provided Rose with a unique set of tools for her writing. Her latest novella, "The Kiss," is testimony of these powerful tools.

"I had many hurdles to overcome in the first 20 years of my life, due to world events (WWII) and parental decisions," Rose says. "Patience and perseverance were my guides, traits one is not born with."
