From debut author Terry Dwyer comes "The Trail", a wide-reaching memoir that captures the zeitgeist and life of the late 20th century his overland journey from Sydney to London. This book breaks new ground as readers are transported from one place to another in over 24 different countries.

A true-life story that needs to be told, this book is Dwyer's journal complete with firsthand knowledge of the destinations he daringly toured. A feat utterly turned down by many, he pursued his dream to travel despite the lack of means during his time. He shares his impressions and judgments of the places, people and events happened upon, as well as the astonishing differences of the past and the present.

This book reveals one man's odyssey back in 1973 when the world was a different place. There were no mobile phones, no laptops and no credit cards. International travel was problematic and little was known about distant places like Afghanistan or Timor. The Vietnam War raged and Bangkok was the fleshpot of Asia. In October, deteriorating relations between Israel and her Arab neighbors would culminate in the Yom Kippur War. That same year, the "hippie trail" between Europe and India lay open. Overland travel between Australia and Europe was possible. And in April 1973, Dwyer set out of Sydney and began his eventful journey to London.

Throughout the pleasantly refreshing pages of the book, Dwyer describes in great detail how he managed to pull off his self-imposed, awe-inspiring trip. A book that chronicles the adventures of a quintessential traveler, "The Trail" is certain to please globetrotters and travel bugs of today and many generations to come.
