While most teenagers are looking forward to their first car, first dance or first date, Keara Barron is focused on publishing her first novel. The Texas teen was only 14 when she penned her first book. Now at 17, she looks to take readers on an adventure to a world built on magic and mystery in "Shadow of the Sacred Islands."

"Shadow of the Sacred Islands" opens on the small country of Lux, home to the overlooked and unassuming city of Elementa. This humble town holds more secrets than once thought when residents come under attack by a dark force that wields sinister magic. Four magicians-Korina, Sage, Elijah and Teressiaare chosen for the dangerous mission and must find the source of this threat's power on the Sacred Islands. Upon their arrival, they discover this menace possesses the ability to destroy their beloved home and everything they hold dear.

"Even at 14-years old I knew I had a passion and talent for writing," Barron said. "I wanted to use that enthusiasm to create a new world and bring to life characters that could take people on adventures. Shadow of the Sacred Islands is the just the beginning for me."

"Shadow and the Sacred Islands" is the start of an exciting and promising journey for four young magicians and one aspiring author. For more information on the author and book, please visit http://www.kearabarron.wordpress.com.
