DOVER, N.H.

"Love in the present form is fleeting with temporal commitments," said Rev. David Thompson.

In light of this, Thompson wrote "The West Virginian (Volume Three: An Anthology About Love)" (published by Xlibris) in an attempt to express the real meaning of love, and show that love can exist beyond the physical. His poems talk about a love relationship between two persons that is mainly spiritual.

An excerpt from the book reads:
Something's beautiful about that woman / That's why I'm doing all the groaning / She moves alone at a pace just right / As she passes she's a bright light / She smiles at me and says hello / I don't know where I should go / She has a body that won't stop / I want to hop and hop and hop / She dresses like a kingly queen / One of beauty who makes a scene / She has a stylish head of hair / All in place and none to spare / She walks on air above the ground / With only a small clicking sound / Oh, I tell you she is a woman / For her, I'd stop all my roaming

Thompson's beautifully crafted verses work to convey the deep sense that love has value beyond the mundane, and shows how it is connected with people's values and traditions. In reading his poems, Thompson hopes to open people's minds to what love is.
