"Humankind, now more than ever, is still searching to determine if we are alone or if there is life among the stars and our relevance to them," says author Gary Furnas. Inspired by this and his research into Sumerian clay tablets and their deciphering, he meshes the two concepts together in his novel, "The Niburian Sequence" (published by Xlibris), where the discovery of an ancient tomb leads to knowledge that could once and forever prove that humanity is not alone in the universe.

"The Niburian Sequence" takes readers from the deserts of the Middle East, across Europe all the way to London. Set in 1921, the story follows Susan Woolsey, a third generation explorer and one of the few women in the burgeoning field of archeology, who discovers an ancient tomb holding a treasure trove of ancient relics that tell a most incredible story. Her discovery puts her in direct conflict with numerous world governments, religious factions and various clandestine secret societies, all with the sole purpose of using the new knowledge for their own twisted agendas. With the help of fellow archeologist, Will Furness, Woolsey must deliver DNA samples from the tomb to London all while eluding pursuit by the world's dark forces. It is a story of high adventure, scientific intrigue and a good old fashion treasure hunt.

"The Niburian Sequence" tells an intriguing story meant to invoke readers to make a critical analysis with regards to the true meaning of life. "I suspect that readers will have more questions than answers when they have finished," says Furnas.
