Author Susan Coursey was inspired to write 'How do you make a Dragon Laugh? (Cómo hacer reír a un dragon?)' (published by Xlibris) by a lack of exciting bilingual adventure stories for children ages four to eight. The Bilingual Edition features English and Spanish text with stunning color illustrations of popular subjects such as space aliens, dinosaurs and dragons and themes important to elementary school children and teachers in elementary school.

In this book, Lia has an opportunity to peek into the life of a dragon when space aliens invite Lia to visit the fantastical zoo in their faraway planet. Lia is dismayed to find the huge dragon Perry in a tiny cage for acting out, while other large animals live together happy, safe and free. Can Lia gain Perry's trust so Perry will laugh again with his friends? As Lia feeds him strawberries, Perry rises to his feet and lunges for strawberries, beginning to trust and laugh again. Lia unlocks the door to Perry's cage and Perry soars into the cage happy to be free.

The author believes children will stretch their imagination and enjoy seeing the whimsy of Perry the dragon as he develops trust and happiness in an environment that emphasizes the importance of empathy, compassion and trust. Preschool and kindergarten children may even see themselves in the adventures of Lia.
