Author Ahamed Ali Khan has seen truly beautiful things, a variety of resplendent sights unique to their places of origin and shaped by nature into perfection. He has also felt the sadness of witnessing the destruction of these sights. His book, "Subtle Obsession" (published by Xlibris AU), depicts the dichotomy of beauty and sadness, and the destructive forces that take said beauty away, leaving behind nothing but grief and pain.

Khan tells two stories, "The Sandy Beach Will Hurt You" and "Sadness Behind Beauty," both exploring the theme of subtle obsessions that become harmful. They are multilayered tales blending romance and suspense, feelings of love, motherhood as well as other, less savory, impulses. Set in exotic locales such as Chennai and Mumbai, these stories of "Subtle Obsession" aim to stir readers' feelings, to compel visceral reactions, as they witness the human drama unfold in the pages before them.

"Anger, separation and sadness are just examples of emotions we as human beings would have felt and know what it is," Khan explains. "What I have done is to magnify it with the sole purpose of getting the reader to be involved - emotionally."

"Subtle Obsessions" is a highly emotional work that strives to take those who dare into the deeper, darker depths of the human psyche.
