Ryan W. Tracy hadn't said a word in almost 40 years when his family discovered his artistic talent. Tracy had been diagnosed with autism at age 7 and lived in a world of his own until the day he picked up a paintbrush, which gave him the gift of words.

Those words came out in a flood of art and poetry that celebrate landscapes, flowers, ribbons of color, valleys of hope and the power of love - all displayed in his book, "The Brilliant Brush-Strokes of Autism: Volume I" (published by AuthorHouse). The author is launching a marketing campaign to promote the book.

"I started paint therapy called mneme therapy (and) my talent just exploded," says Tracy. "I went on to write poems to go along with each painting ... This is when my journey begins."

Tracy's work shows the pure bliss that came from finding an outlet to express himself as a non-verbal, autistic man. His paintings and poems portray a sense of appreciation for the beauty of nature in all its many wonders. Tracy hopes his book will inspire "not only the autistic world, but the world as a whole."
