Blake eLearning, creators of the multi-award winning online reading program for young children, Reading Eggs, has recently announced an exclusive partnership with Toronto-based e-book company, Kobo.

For the first time, the award-winning educational e-books featured in the Reading Eggs program will be made available outside of the program in digital format to millions of Kobo customers worldwide.

The Reading Eggs program, which is designed to support young children in developing essential reading skills via a range of interactive online reading lessons, has already been used by over 3.4 million users worldwide as well as in over 10,000 primary schools. Developed by a team of experienced teachers and educational writers, the program contains a comprehensive digital library of over 1700 children's e-books, most of which had previously only been accessible in digital format to Reading Eggs subscribers.

The agreement signed by Blake eLearning and Kobo will now allow customers of Kobo to access over 120 free and paid titles of the Reading Eggs e-books, aligning with both companies' joint vision of encouraging young children to read.

Matthew Sandblom, CEO of Blake eLearning, regards the partnership as a positive step forward in achieving this vision.

"The Reading Eggs program not only helps children learn to read, it also develops positive attitudes about reading and learning in the minds of young children. It makes perfect sense to us to be working with Kobo, who share our value about the importance of reading and the desire to encourage the next generation of readers."

The e-books will feature in Kobo's dedicated Kids' Store section on their website, which offers nearly 100,000 titles and is designed to make it easier for children and parents to search for new books and make eReading an educational, fun and friendly experience for families.

Kobo's Children's Book Merchandiser Antonia Fowler says, "Like Kobo, Reading Eggs are leaders in their field - perfectionists, dedicated to doing one thing better than anyone else in the world, and we believe this is what makes them an ideal addition to our Kids' Store educational line-up."

To celebrate the new partnership, Reading Eggs is offering a bundle of 4 free educational e-books to Kobo customers. The free e-books include an introductory title from each of Reading Eggs' e-books series - Alphabet, Concept, Math and Leveled.

More about the series:
Alphabet e-books - Research shows that knowing the alphabet, especially the sound and shape of each letter, is a strong indicator for success at school. The 26 Reading Eggs Alphabet e-books provide a powerful tool to help children build these skills. Building phonemic awareness - the ability to hear and say the different sounds in words - is the second skill all children need to learn to read.

Math e-books - Make math fun, relevant and colorful with these Math Concept e-books. The series introduces early math concepts in a bright and stimulating format, covering early math skills such as counting, number recognition, colours, shapes and more! The 22 Reading Eggs Mathseeds Concept e-books provide a powerful tool to help children build these skills.

Concept e-books - Research shows that having a rich vocabulary is a key building block for all learning. There are many simple concepts that young children need to learn and knowing these will help with success at school. The Reading Eggs Concept e-books provide a powerful tool to help children build these skills. As children read and re-read each e-book, they are building essential early reading skills, including learning new words and matching spoken words to print.

Leveled e-books - Children who are beginning their reading journey need e-books that promote reading success. The best way to achieve this is to provide children with e-books at their reading proficiency level. Reading Eggs Leveled e-books provide a powerful tool to help children build their early reading skills. Children can read and re-read each Leveled e-book to improve their reading fluency and experience reading success. With 10 titles at each reading level (1 - 6), the Reading Eggs Leveled e-books provide a wealth of titles for your young reader.
