NORWOOD, Australia

Written for those seeking empowerment, author Rachna Subir Sen's book "The Keys to the Best You: A DIY Manual to Transform Yourself" (published by Balboa Press) contains ancient wisdom and modern knowledge to help readers be their best selves. To further market the book, it will be featured in the fall 2014 Balboa Press catalog.

"This is a self-development book to help connect with our essence," Sen says, "to use the ancient keys we have been given to unlock the treasure we are."

Sen says she began an autobiography nine years ago. She quickly noticed the tone of her message change as she wrote. She then switched genres from autobiography to self-help, ready to share what helped her. Her book couples the mental techniques of yoga and her knowledge of self-development to surround readers in what she calls "uplifting energy".

The topics discussed are taken from her real-life experiences over the last six years. She takes inspiration from her move to Australia 10 years ago and her search for self-discovery to support others in their own hunts for self-realization.

"I have tried to connect the tools with my own story to make the situations more real," Sen says. "This book is about an ordinary person who believed in the self and the ability to overcome challenges by listening to her instinct and creating change from within, rather than waiting for it to come from the outside."
