MATTESON, Ill.

According to Rev. Michael J. Novick, there has been a shift in how the Church is perceived today. He was inspired to put his thoughts about it in a book because of the 13 years of experience he had as a priest. And he thinks that he has a good take on the reality for the faithful.

"We don't live in Eden" (published by Xlibris) elucidates on the changes and challenges the ministry goes through due to the changes in God's people. In this book, the author focuses on a lack of vocations, scandal over time, and other instances that have hurt the Church in the last 40-50 years. He gives his personal views as to just what is going to need to happen if there is even going to be a Church in the coming years.

"I hope to make clear that what I write is based in simple love for Jesus Christ to offer hope to a very broken society that hungers for God, even when many do not know why. My hope is that I can help put a little credibility back into the Catholic Church simply by having a little zeal for the faith we profess," the author said.

"We don't live in Eden" provides readers with a deeper understanding of the Catholic Church. It will make them learn to grow in the appreciation for the Church and pray for its priests.
