ROSLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y.

Detailing events yet to come, author Jamel Gross' new book of poetry "Eyes of Desire" (published by AuthorHouse) develops themes of marriage, loss, curiosity and expectations.

Gross says his poetry reflects the elements of his life he has not yet experienced, such as romance and future journeys with friends and family.

The poetry within is inspired by Gross' daily life, something he hopes will connect with the lives of his readers.

A poetry excerpt from "Eyes of Desire":

"Stars roast like marshmallows.
Rays of lightening are fluorescent in tender skies.
Let's make music together like we'll always remember.
When you and I play our parts, we
Can't fight the feeling we have inside.
Your fairy godmother has arrived to make sweet melodies.
Count the times me and you were unbreakable.
Ride in the parade and circle it in the yellow pages."
