About the Author
Jody Mackey was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of Glen Ellyn, and she now lives with her husband in Tucson, Arizona. She is a Fine Art graduate and proud supporter of the University of Arizona. She lives an active lifestyle: she competes in running and cycling events. She has completed over 50 triathlons, including eight Ironman events. She has three beautiful horses and rides several days a week. She has been introduced to Gymkhana equestrian events and barrel racing by her trainer, Jeanine Valenzuela. She finds that the competition is another great way to make friends and spend time with her horses. She believes that Tucson, Arizona is the perfect place to live, with warm and sunny skies almost every day of the year. Mackey is always outside training, riding the horses or playing golf at Ventana Canyon Golf and Racquet Club. Sports have enriched her life so much; it only seems natural to share her experiences and to inspire young children to be active through her books.
